Finalist Miss Canada 2020
Jasmin C
Hello,
My name is Jasmin and I’m from Montreal, Quebec. Currently, I am finishing my Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. Throughout the years, I have tried my best to give back whenever I could, specifically with mental health and STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math) awareness.
I have battled with depression and anxiety for almost 10 years and thanks to all the support and resources, I was able to find ways to get myself back up and look at life with a positive light. I have worked with Villa Maria, McGill and Thought Catalog to share my story and techniques I
have used to fight this battle.
I have also used my passion for science to help spread STEM awareness to the general public through my work with Let’s Talk Science, a Canadian non-profit organization that aims to engage communities about different aspects of science using hands-on and mind-on activities. I
want to be able to show people, especially children, that science is not “hard” and can be exciting.
My goal is to inspire and encourage people to view life with a different light, whether it be with more positivity or with a different prospective. I am ready to grow my platform and share my goal with Canada.

If you’d Elected: what you would realize
Why vote for me!
I am patient, determined and passionate. I am a regular girl from Montreal that wants the best for others. I promise I will do everything I can to spread awareness to Mental Health and STEM, whether I win or not. Not only will I work towards my platform, but I will help anyway I can to make life a little easier for the people around me.
If I become Miss Canada 2020, I will continue my work on my platform. Additionally, I will use my voice to spread love, generosity, hope and positivity across Canada. As someone who has battled through depression, I will use my story to empower others and make sure they see the light at the end of the tunnel.
