Finalist Miss Canada 2017

Katelynne H
Hello,
My name is Katelynne, my traditional name is Elisapee. I’ve been born and raised in Victoria, BC and my Inuit heritage is from Kuujjuaq, QC. In 2015 I competed in the Miss BC pageant and was crowned Miss Vancouver Island 2015.
This year I am graduating from Camosun College in their Indigenous Family Support Program and with a Diploma in Arts and Science. I am looking forward to supporting indigenous communities and families. In addition to my educational journey, I work and volunteer within my community; I am the First Nations Student Director for Camosun College when I work with the college in education policy and indigenization policies.
I am a part of the City of Victoria Youth Council, as well as working in United Nations policy consultations for youth being key stakeholders in fostering peace and security in their communities. I volunteer with the Royal BC Museum in the First Nations and Reparation Department. As well as being a big sister to three brothers who inspire me everyday.
