Finalist Miss Canada 2024
Agnès Kiese K
Hello,
One of my favorite verses from the Bible is: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” I have experienced different seasons in my life, and the one that makes me the proudest is the one where my faith in Jesus Christ has grown. It enables me to keep pushing forward, never give up, be resilient, and believe in positive things. In a few words, it is the quintessence of who I am.
Since the age of 16, I have been participating in various events promoting overall well-being, as well as volunteering for different organisations concentrated on supporting women who are victims of sexual assault (for example, La Rue Des Femmes). Listening to the victims, exchanging experiences, and opening about diverse forms of abuse deeply touched me because I myself have been a victim. Due to the heaviness of what they have experienced, I also shared my personal testimony with the goal of encouraging them to persevere and believe that it is possible to rebuild and find happiness.
I have been a model since the age of 18, and I continuously use the influence and attention from this profession to raise awareness amongst the youth around me about the psychological, physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences of sexual assault through my various social media platforms (Instagram, Podcast, TikTok).
My educational background plays a significant role in my ability to speak openly about this taboo subject. I was the vice-president of the student council in high school, and I also participated in a Model United Nations simulation at my CEGEP, where my partner and I won an excellence award for our Position Paper (P.P).
Becoming Miss Canada will not only give me the opportunity to have a greater voice for all victims of sexual assault but also to be an example of hope and faith. I also support low-income families through donations to the Operation Enfant Soleil organization.
The more I see the benefits of my dedication and passion for helping others, the more I give and dream big.
