Finalist Miss Canada 2016
Alicia Chérie G
Hello,
Hello, my name is Alicia, I am from Montreal and I am 21 years old. I am currently in my second year at Concordia University studying Exercise Science, specializing in Clinical Exercise Physiology (kinesiology). A Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) is a healthcare professional who works with individuals who cannot perform daily activities due to their physical disabilities. CEPs design and implement exercises to improve not only their overall health status but, their physical, social and economical independence. I hope to one day own my own practice in order to help those in need. It puts a smile on my face, knowing I can make a difference in our society by doing what I love most which is helping others. One main reason I was drawn to this program was that my grandfather was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. From an early age, I always wanted to help him, whether it was to transfer him onto his wheelchair, or to put a smile on his face. What I have learned over these years is that success is incredibly important, however what is even more important is having an impact on others. It is knowing you haven’t walked the planet in vain but rather that you have blessed people and made the world a better place by spreading happiness, joy and positive energy!
In addition, I am someone who is very passionate about the art field. In my spare time, I like to escape into a world filled with colors. I enjoy painting, drawing and photography. I also love skating and dancing ballet. I would love to travel the world and discover new foods, languages, cultures and traditions. I am eager to learn how people experience life with different perspectives and backgrounds. It makes us become more understanding and wholehearted individuals.
I thank you for your confidence and your votes!
