Finalist Miss Canada 2019
Ashley S.
Hello,
My name is Ashley and I am from the small town of Tecumseh, Ontario. I just earned a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts & English from the University of Windsor and will soon be returning to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
I started my own art business, selling my artwork and handmade greeting cards, and working as a freelance makeup artist, doing makeup for numerous occasions and events. I am extremely passionate about mental health awareness and using the Arts as an outlet for stress relief and self-expression. Pageantry has allowed me to become more involved with local organizations and has taught me so much about myself, the issues we face in Canada, and the amazing people in my community.
I am so grateful for how far I have come with my experiences so far and I look forward to taking more opportunities to travel, learn, teach, inspire and grow.
Ashley

Why vote for me!
What would be my accomplishments as a prize winner?
As Miss Canada 2019, my main goal is raise at least $5,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association. In the past year, I have already held events and raised money for the organization, which allowed me to become an ambassador for the CMHA’s Sole Focus Project Campaign. The Sole Focus Project seeks to create a legacy fund to enhance and share education, training and awareness for mental health care in Windsor-Essex County, Ontario. I am so grateful to have been recognized by the Canadian Mental Health Association and to be able to assist them in raising awareness for mental health in my community. Not only do I look forward to using the title of Miss Canada 2019 to raise awareness for mental wellness, but also to promote the importance of the Arts, as the Arts are fundamental to learning and growing, and to be an extraordinary representative of the cultural values we share as Canadians.
Why vote for me?
After competing in pageants for five years, I have gained ample knowledge about what it means to compete in pageants, what it takes to earn a title, and the responsibilities that come with being a titleholder. Thanks to pageantry and past life experiences, I have enhanced my strength, intelligence, presence and confidence to heights I never imagined to be possible. This has not only assisted me in competing, but also within my everyday life. I have the motivation and drive to work hard towards my goals and ultimately achieve them, whether that be for my education, my career, pageantry, health or personal accomplishments. Because of my experience in pageantry, I have had the opportunity to volunteer for, raise awareness and raise money for numerous organizations, which has allowed me to make valuable connections with inspiring, hardworking and charitable figures, as well as to meet wonderful individuals that I now consider lifelong friends. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to compete for the honourable title of Miss Canada 2019, and to use this title as a platform to work with my community to raise awareness for causes that I hold close to my heart. I look forward to having the chance to use my title to make an impact in my community and ultimately to make a difference across Canada.
