Finalist Miss Teen Canada 2020
Coralie T
Hello,
My name is Coralie, i am 15 years old and live near Montreal. I have been a student in the Défi-entreprenariat program at my high school for 4 years. I like to spend my free time volunteering, participating in community projects, and learning a third language, Spanish. I am discovering that through this program, my eyes are being opened to the world.
I have volunteered as a program assistant in figure skating for more than 3 years to help youngsters in learning their sport. I figure skated for more than 6 years. I have participated many other sports including dance, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading.
The motto most dear to my heart is: “You should not impose your beliefs on others.” It inspires me to have respect for others and respect for myself, which is a value that guides my life choices.
A significant life experience for me was working last summer as a caregiver for a disabled child at my city’s day camp. I loved this experience because helping others gives me a feeling of well-being.
Having verbal dyspraxia myself, I needed assistance when I was young. I was fortunate to be helped by a speech therapist as well as several other specialists. This gave me the desire to help children who have language difficulties. My biggest dream would be to become a speech therapist with children, to help them express themselves well.
For me, winning Miss Teen Canada would be an opportunity to tell young people that anything is possible if you’re willing to work hard and persevere despite the difficulties we may face in life.
