Beauty pageants can mean many things to different people. For me, this pageant has been an opportunity of a lifetime to better myself and become more involved in my community. I have been able to work with community leaders and plan activities to help promote the French language and culture in my community.
My name is Jewel Lindemann; born and raised in Cambridge Ontario. I am now 17 years old and attending a French high school outside of Cambridge, PRDG. I am a passionate individual who loves to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy helping others. At school, I am involved in many committees such as Relay For Life, Prom committee and embellishment committee. I am also acting in the school play. The dramatic arts have always interested me. When I am not doing homework or school activities, I enjoy listening to music and reading.
There are many reasons that I entered this pageant. First and foremost, it has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember to walk across stage at the Miss Teen Canada contest. On top of this, this contest gives local girls the chance to become an ambassador for a cause dear to them. It gives them opportunities of a lifetime. Most importantly, I entered this beauty pageant to get out and meet new people. Throughout my community involvement, I can safely say that I have met some amazing new people. I look forward to meeting all the amazing girls at the pageant.
My motto throughout this journey has been to take the risks. This motto comes from someone who was dear to my heart; My Uncle. With his recent and sudden passing, it opened all of my family’s eyes to how you must live your life to the fullest and take the risks. “If you never take a risk, you will never achieve your dreams.” This leads me to the message that I wish to convey throughout my experience at Miss Teen Canada as well as if I were crowned Miss Teen Canada 2017. I want to help everyone be proud of who they are and never let someone change them. You are beautiful exactly how you are!
