Finalist Miss Teen Canada 2017
Jewel L
Hello,
My name is Jewel Lindemann and I am 18 years old. I have been raised in the wonderful city of Cambridge. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as reading and listening to music. I also love spending time at my trailer where I have been camping since I was a day old. I am very proud and fortunate to be French Canadian and I am currently the youngest member of the Centre Communautaire Francophone de Cambridge committee. There I am able to combine both of my passions; languages and working with children.
The Centre has always been a big part of my life since my grandparents were among those who fundraised to build us the center as well as get the French community of Cambridge a church and a school. My ability to speak both French and English has helped me express myself through music and writing during my hard times.
I love learning; especially learning new languages. This love for education comes from the teachers I have had throughout my life. They always saw potential in me and found ways to make learning fun. This is where my dream of becoming a teacher comes from. I would like to share my love for education and my love for languages with future generations. There are so many teachers who inspired me to chase my dreams simply because they saw that potential in me. I wish to be that person for the youth. As a teacher and as Miss Teen Canada 2018, I want to work with children as well as my community and help them see everything they are able to accomplish. I want to help them work through their times of adversity, find their passion and chase after their dreams no matter what may stand in their way.
I am a young woman who is dedicated to helping my community as well as sharing my passions with others. I am currently attending the University of Guelph to start my journey to becoming a French teacher where I will share my love for the language with future generations.
