Finalist Miss Canada 2016

Twenty-one years ago I was born at the IWK in Halifax, Nova Scotia. My wonderful mother named me Justina Teixeira I am a Canadian girl with a Portuguese background. I now live in a beautiful small town called Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Right now I am currently taking law enforcement at Ravensberg College.

My next step after graduation would be to join the R.C.M.P there would be nothing else I would rather do than keep those around me safe. Recently my classmates and me have raised over $3,400 for Christmas Daddies. For those who do not know what Christmas Daddies are, they are an organization to help those less fortunate have a Christmas. I was also honoured to go on live TV with three other classmates to present a cheque to Christmas Daddies. Also I will be starting volunteer work with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, which I am super, excited for.

I have also volunteered with those that have special needs it was a wonderful experience, I met so many amazing people with huge hearts and warm smiles. One of my biggest passions would be modeling it has probably been something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl besides a princess of course. Hockey has also impacted me it’s been in my life for a long time I grew up everyday with it in my life. I have friends and family that play whenever I can get out to support them I am always there.

I have actually token up a new hobby and joined a few girls and play hockey, which is awesome because it’s a great work out and you meet some really awesome people. My favourite passion is to cook with my Portuguese grandmother it actually has to be my absolute favourite thing to do with her besides shopping, her food is amazing and I learn so many tricks from her.

The biggest thing about me is I like to keep active I like to always keep myself going rather it’s at the gym or at home. Lastly, I would like to say I am grateful for all the wonderful people in my life I can never thank them enough for always pushing me for bigger, better things and always loving me uncontrollably, I love you all.
