Finalist Miss Canada 2024
Karyssa C-A
Hello,
Karyssa is a Toronto Metropolitan student studying Intercultural relations and global politics aiming for a career in global affairs for the Canadian government.
t
When Karyssa was a teenager, she was diagnosed with the life altering autoimmune disease, colitis. She had an ostomy bag for four years, impacting her personal life, school life, and mental health. At rock bottom, she chose to flip the script and decided to use this pain as a motivator. She knew she wanted to create a change.
t
She joined pageants as a way to stand on stage, scars proudly on display as a representation to other people that adversity makes us strong, and what doesn’t kill us makes us even stronger. She has been proud to represent the titles she has received including representing El Salvador internationally. This passion grew and she now works toward being a part of a government system that changes the lives of those who face adversity.
t
As a first generation Salvadoran-Canadian, she understands the struggles of immigration and the sacrifices those who move to create better futures. As Miss Canada, she wants to be a leader and be an example of a strong Latina woman in politics.
