Finalist Miss Canada 2022
Kimberly S
Hello,
Kimberly is twenty nine years old and calls the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, home. Born in the Caribbean and raised in Canada from the age of two, Kimberly began living a life of service and generosity at an early age. Her talent within the arts was discovered by an elementary school teacher, who encouraged her family to send her to an arts school.
She attended St. Thomas Aquinas S.S. in Brampton, Ontario, where she received a Mother Teressa Service award and an Academic award in Dance. Kimberly pursued a Liberal arts education at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, ON, where she obtained a B.A. in English and Theology with a minor in Business. Kimberly did this while completing dance training as a pre-professional as well as working multiple jobs such as a janitor and teacher’s assistant.
Throughout university, Kimberly embarked on many ventures. Kimberly lobbied for a revision of the Child and Family Services Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. C.11 to intercede on behalf of at risk youth across Ontario. Following this, she launched a Dance camp through the Ministry of Economic Development Summer Company grant. She continued her non-profit work through brand partnerships with dance studios.
Kimberly has been featured in the Fast Romantics music video, “Steal Your Heart”. She has also interned for various local dance performance series which have been featured on CBC Arts and Toronto Galleries and is a member of Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists. Kimberly began modelling in 2020 and in 2021, she returned to training in ballet with new hopes of becoming a professional contemporary ballet dancer.
In 2020, Kimberly earned a Basic Life Support First Responder certification and became a National Responder with the Canadian Red Cross, while maintaining an Ontario Mortgage Agent license. When she is not away on deployments, she works to build memberships for major art museums and science centres across North America.
Kimberly is working towards the Royal Academy of Dance exams, and will one day help children discover a world of new opportunity through dance. Kimberly is determined to empower young girls to embrace their talents and inspire them to dream, and to be an agent in the restorative process in how the world views women and the role of the feminine.
As Miss Canada, Kimberly hopes to launch a fellowship honouring Young women of resounding scholarship, gifting and excellence.
