Finalist Miss Canada 2023

Hello,

My name is Mélyka and I am living in Chambly, a city on the south shore of Montréal. I am currently a manager aa well as a chef waitress on a newly restaurant call Shaker Cuisine et Mixologie in Laval. I aspire to keep climbing the rank in this restaurant and in the restoration in general, a passion of mine! I used to study history at Université de Montréal, drama at Bishop’s University and social sciences in Collège Lionel-Groulx. I like to believe that my strong empathy and my big heart are the reasons that keep pushing me a little more everyday into learning more about being human in its diffrent ways.

However, the human being a d the restaurant industry is not the only thing I am interested about. Causes that help animals in need are very important to me and hold a special place in my heart. Despite the great progress we’ve made for the rights of our furry friends, we still have a long way to go. This is why, since May 2021, my soft spot for animal has led me to create my platform called A Voice For the Voiceless, which is actually going thru a rebranding phase. Throughout this, I gave myself a mission to educate and raise awarness about animal cruelty on social medias, while volunteering in animal shelters. I have many projects on the way and being crowned Miss Canada would be a huge step to help my achieve some of these goals.

I love the idea that we all have a destiny to accomplish and pageants are here to help us fulfill that destiny. 

For me, it’s to fight animal cruelty, to stand for the rights of our small friends, while trying to spread positivity around me. What’s yours?
