Finalist Miss Canada 2020

Hello,

Hello! My name is Olivia, I’m from Dieppe, New Brunswick, and am currently living in Fredericton and attending my second year at the University of New Brunswick. I am obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing with a certificate in Publishing and choosing to follow my passion everyday, with dreams of becoming a published author one day. I have been writing and illustrating books since the age of 6, so these dreams come to no surprise for anyone who knows me. In my spare time, I enjoy going to go to school and daycares and reading to children. Having been involved in book clubs and taken writing seminars since the age of 15, I hope to inspire many other by founding the first Creative Writing Club at the University of New Brunswick, aiding others who are passionate about literature as well.

Throughout my life I have been brought up doing a lot of charity work, whether it was for our local church or aiding in fundraisers with the productions of fashion shows. I also continued this work throughout high school by volunteering at the Dieppe Public Library and encouraging friends to do so as well. Entering the Pageant industry is a very new path for me, and through it I have found a new passion for inspiring others by spreading my message of Confidence, Literature, and Creativity. Pageantry has also allowed me to learn so much about myself and blossom into a better person, and I aspire to encourage other girls and boys to participate and find their voices, just as I have.

I believe that every book is a door that leads to new possibilities into every child’s imagination, and with the platform that Miss Canada 2020 would bring, I would extend my passion into schools, daycares, and other places that would have me, enthusiastically speaking to future or older generations. I would expand into becoming an advocate for confidence and individuality, encouraging others to follow their passions, no matter how different or outlandish they may be.
