My name is Priya Madaan, I am 18 years old and I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. Since I was young, I’ve had a passion for the arts. I have always loved the piano and have been playing ever since I was 7. As I grew older I also became interested in fashion and the art of makeup. I enjoy all of these hobbies but nothing brings me as much joy as giving back to people. I have been a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation for four years, and also for the Canadian World Education Foundation (CWEF). CWEF is a non-profit charitable organization that aims to provide financial assistance to underprivileged children, ensuring they receive proper education. From volunteering I discovered my true passion for helpings others, I truly want to change lives for the better. I’m currently a Nursing student at the University of Windsor and I have been extremely privileged to have the opportunity of higher education, which is something I believe should be accessible to everyone. As Miss Canada, I want to spread my message across the country and start a nationwide campaign to help low income and at risk youth get the opportunity and financial support to graduate high school and pursue further education.
