Finalist Miss Teen Canada 2022

Hello,

Hi my name is Riya, I am born and raised in beautiful Richmond BC, where I attend High School. I live with my mom, dad and younger brother. My dad is from Nepal and my mom is born and raised in Vancouver, BC. My maternal grandparents are from Fiji.

I am classically trained Bharatnatyam and Khathak dancer. I have been dancing since I was 5 years old. I am an avid swimmer, currently enrolled in the Lifeguard course. I have completed elementary French Immersion.

I volunteer at an after school program where I was a student for over 10 years. I also volunteer with the Miss Fiji Canada. I was participant with this pageant and placed 1st runner up.

Kindness, compassion, respect, determination and positivity are five values that describe me best. I always try to understand both sides of a situation, by respecting everyone’s point and helping come to a positive outcome.

I love hanging out with my friends, going to the movies and singing. I really enjoy travelling with my family. Camping trips are the best!

We have two puppies, Steel and Shadow and I love spending time with them. They are both Pomskies and too much fun.

I am blessed to be surrounded by strong, independent and caring women who inspire me daily. They always have told me to “Be the best version of you” words that I will forever live by. As they remind me to embrace who I am and work hard for what I want.

I am thrilled and honoured to be a part of Miss Teen Canada. I am grateful I live in Canada, where opportunities are endless. If I win Miss Teen Canada I will continue to inspire, encourage, and motivate girls to ‘Be the best version of you!’
