Finalist Miss Canada 2026

Samara O
Hello,
Samara is an Irish-Canadian actress, writer, and singer from Montreal. She is the author of the #1 bestselling poetry collection, What If The Sun Died. A scholar of Irish studies, she is also a sought-after public speaker who engages audiences on topics such as leadership, literature, and Irish culture. Notably, Samara became the first-ever “Trinity Queen,” reigning as Queen of the St. Patrick’s Day parades in Hudson (2019), Montreal (2023), and Châteauguay (2024). These “Queen” roles have evolved into ongoing commitments to support these Irish communities. As a respected poet in Montreal, Samara continues to inspire others through her performances at schools, public events, and cultural ceremonies. She is excited to contribute these passions to the Miss Canada event this coming spring.

If you’d Elected: what you would realize
Why vote for me!
By voting for me, you’re not just supporting a young woman with a dream, but also supporting my purpose and platform as an artist and advocate for cultural preservation. My journey has been defined by a commitment to community storytelling, culture and heritage, whether through my work as a poet, a professional actress, or as a public speaker. I believe that the arts are the heartbeat of our culture and a powerful tool for empathy, mental health, and connection. Your vote is a vote for a leader who has proven her dedication to representing her community with integrity, passion, and a creative spirit that aims to inspire the next generation of young Canadian voices.
If I were to be awarded the title of Miss Canada, my greatest accomplishment would be to use this national platform to amplify the causes I have already supported on the local and academic levels. I will advocate for mental health and emotional literacy, promoting the importance of emotional intelligence and creative healing across the country. I will also bring my existing school tours and presentations on leadership and poetry to a wider national audience, encouraging youth to find their voices through creative expression. And drawing from my academic background in Irish Studies and my work on historical preservation projects, I would advocate for the protection of our diverse cultural histories. By bridging the worlds of academia, poetry, and community service, I intend to show that a modern Miss Canada is a scholar, an artist, and a tireless advocate for a more empathetic and culturally rich society.
