Finalist Miss Canada 2019

Suzie S.
Hello,
My name is Suzie, and I am from Windsor, Ontario. I am a bilingual Communications and Political Science student at the University of Windsor. As an aspiring Journalist, I have a zest for learning about others and immersing myself in different cultures. I continue to work towards this dream through my education as well as writing stories about local events and people making a difference in their communities.
I have a passion for public speaking. I have spoken locally, provincially, and nationally about the importance of getting young people to vote. As well, I have been fortunate enough to be the ambassador for initiatives including my local multicultural council and the Canadian Cancer Society. In the future, I hope to continue to speak to others about these organizations and become a spokeswoman for new ones.
My focus on community collaboration has taught me the importance of being generous and open-minded. This mindset has led me to excel and represent a number of volunteer groups including ‘The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association’, and ‘The Optimist Club’.
Through pageantry, I am able to be a role model for my community and now I am eager to inspire others, across Canada, to seek out opportunities and make a difference in the world.
