Finalist Miss Canada 2024
Victoria G
Hello,
My name is Victoria, I am a 20-year-old neuroscience researcher, award-winning 2x TEDx speaker, fashion model, ballet dancer and body-positive advocate, from beautiful Mississauga, Ontario!
As someone who lives with body dysmorphia, I am driven to be the change that I wish I had seen growing up, and the Miss Canada that today’s young women deserve. I am pursuing my Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto with a double specialist in Psychology and Exceptionality in Human Learning. My goal is to become a clinical psychologist and professor. Additionally, I have a Neuroscience and Neuroimaging specialization from Johns Hopkins University. As a woman working in STEM research, I aim to empower other women in STEM. This mission inspired me to create my NGO, “BodyIMG”: a platform dedicated to making research on body image accessible for women, by women. I am also an empirical peer reviewer and editor for the Journal of Scientific Innovation, an award-winning academic, and the author of a Barnes & Noble book.
In addition to founding two NGO organizations, I have also volunteered for several foundations including the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation, CAMH, and SeekHer Foundation. I was also selected as a member of the Internation OCD Foundation’s Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) Special Intrest Group, alongside the world’s most revolutionary BDD researchers and clinicians. Furthermore, I am an associate of the American Psychological Association Division 40 in Clinical Neuropsychology, the Canadian Psychological Association, and a member of the United Nation’s UNESCO GYC.
As Miss Canada 2024, I will give a voice to women who have historically been underrepresented in the beauty industry due to their body shape. This very mission has led me to the TEDx stage, national TV, and the covers of magazines internationally.
I believe that all women deserve to see their stories, their bodies, and their diverse beauty reflected in Miss Canada!

If you’d Elected: what you would realize
Why vote for me!
As Miss Canada 2024, my goal is to uplift women in finding their own unique and diverse beauty. I will continue my work with empowering non-profits including Opération Enfant Soleil, TEDx, BDD Foundation, International OCD Foundation, and my NGO: BodyIMG. Though my story of becoming a neuroscience researcher and fashion model sounds unique, I am still the same girl who once felt that her body did not live up to current beauty standards. As Miss Canada, I want to be the woman I wish I had seen in the media growing up and inspire body confidence in our next generation.
Voting for me as the next Miss Canada represents more than a choice for a title; it would show the young women who have never seen themselves as a beauty queen that they too can be Miss Canada. I have dedicated my life’s work to uplifting the voices of young women who were told they were not enough due to not fitting societal beauty norms. Every day, I aim to make the lives of young women brighter, so they too can feel beautiful in their own skin. As Miss Canada 2024, I will be a powerhouse for positive change.
